Farm · from pen manure to soil

Compost

Manure from the feedlot pens is composted on the farm and returned to the lands or sold as compost to growers.

Farm (feed, cattle, compost)

How it is made.

Pen manure is scraped, stacked in windrows and turned until it has composted. The finished compost is screened and spread on the farm's maize and soya lands, which closes the loop between the feedlot and the crops.

For sale

Compost that is not needed on the farm is sold in bulk to growers, landscapers and nurseries in the area.
